OUT LOUD About Promotion, Communication and Dissemination - PDA, Italy

The Out Loud project, part of the Erasmus+ programme, took place in Molfetta from October 7-11, 2024, as a 5-day international training designed for youth workers.

The project aimed to address the ongoing challenge of balancing the dissemination of Erasmus+ project results with effective promotion. Built on the idea that Erasmus+ is often recognized as the most successful student-oriented programme, the training emphasized the need to also highlight the other sectors like VET, Adult, and Youth.

Throughout the training, participants explored new strategies and trends in promotion and communication, while engaging in practical exercises to enhance their skills in making Erasmus+ projects more visible and impactful. This initiative encouraged the sharing of best practices and fostered international collaboration among youth workers committed to improving the outreach of Erasmus+ initiatives.

As partner organizations in the #OutLoud project, part of the #ErasmusPlus program, we embarked on an enriching journey characterized by collaboration, creativity, and professional development. Over the course of the project, we had the privilege of working alongside 16 dedicated youth workers from 8 different countries, each contributing their unique perspectives and expertise to this initiative. 🌍✨

From the very first day, the atmosphere was electric as participants began to connect, sharing their experiences, backgrounds, and aspirations for the days ahead. We kicked off by exploring the work of the partner organizations and getting a glimpse into their projects and missions, laying the foundation for what would become an enriching exchange of knowledge.

One of the early highlights was a special meeting with a representative from Molfetta City Council, giving participants an opportunity to understand the importance of local engagement and community-driven initiatives. Later, laughter filled the air as we stepped into the studio of Radio FGen, where we had the chance to record a fun dubbing session. 🎤🎧 This was more than just a creative exercise—it showcased how media can be a powerful tool for youth work and communication.

As the days unfolded, we dove deep into the heart of the project: dissemination and promotion strategies. We engaged in dynamic discussions where participants shared best practices from their own organizations, each one contributing to a pool of innovative ideas. 💡 Topics ranged from the intricacies of DEOR strategies to effective communication methods for reaching diverse audiences. It was clear that we were not just building knowledge—we were creating tools that would help our organizations and communities thrive long after the project ended.

The learning didn't stop there. One of the most engaging parts of the project was the chance to experience these strategies in action. We visited Tele Dehon, where participants were introduced to the world of journalism and communication techniques. 📺🗣️ The visit opened up new perspectives on how media can amplify the voices of young people, allowing us to see firsthand how storytelling and reporting can foster change. Later, we had the privilege of recording a news segment at the L’Edicola del Sud newsroom in Bari. This experience was both professional and exciting, as participants got hands-on with real newsroom processes, solidifying the link between media and dissemination.

In between the intense learning sessions, we also celebrated the little moments that made the project truly special. We enjoyed cozy dinners with local Italian families, where participants were not only guests but cultural ambassadors, sharing their own traditions and learning about Italian customs. 🍝 The warmth of these exchanges created bonds that transcended borders, making everyone feel part of a global family.

As the project advanced, participants worked collaboratively to develop concrete DEOR strategies and initiated the drafting of a comprehensive guidebook 📚✍️. This handbook will serve as a key output of the project, providing youth workers and organizations with a structured approach to dissemination and promotion strategies, complete with tools and best practices gleaned from our collective experiences. The partnerships formed, the knowledge acquired, and the strategies developed stand as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared learning.

By the final day, the transformation was evident. The partnerships built, the knowledge gained, and the strategies developed were all a testament to the power of collaboration and shared learning. As we wrapped up the project, there was a strong sense that this was just the beginning. We had laid the groundwork for future collaborations and impactful projects, all centered around the idea of making youth voices heard through effective dissemination and promotion.
